September 14, 2023 – TORONTO – Securian Canada, a leading insurance provider of innovative and life-ready insurance solutions in Canada, is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Fortier to Senior Vice President, Actuarial, Risk & Product. In this new role, Fortier will lead a multi-disciplinary team balancing risk, product and oversight with the company’s growth strategy to advance Securian Canada’s foothold in the Canadian market.

Fortier joined Securian Canada in August, bringing with him over 25 years of international experience, serving most recently as Treasurer and Head of Capital Planning at Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. With a global outlook acquired through his industry experience across Canada, Malaysia and Hong Kong, Fortier brings a holistic perspective, extensive leadership experience and a passion for product innovation.
